Dr.Ariyaratne is the founder of the Sarvodaya Shramadana self-governance movement in Sri Lanka. Taking inspiration from Buddhist and Gandhian principles, he has pioneered peace and conflict resolution in Sri Lankan villages benefiting some 11 million citizens. He is well renown as the “Gandhi of Sri Lanka” and is the recipient of several international honors including the Gandhi Peace Prize and the Ramon Magsaysay Award. He is a living legend and a great source of inspiration for the human race.
